Week 8-Recap
Last week on Tuesday and Thursday, our professor put us in group to try out the new card games he brought in for us. The card games he brought in were Fluxx, Exploding kitties, Kahoot, Bartok, and control. The game we got selected to play in was Control. Control is a term for a deck of usually sixty cards that aims to control the opponent's cards and progression with, ideally, the result where one has full control of everything that is done during the game. Control decks typically get their edge through card advantage. The goal of the game is to 21 fuel cells, each person gets 7 cards from the deck, and they are separated into two groups that are called silver and bronze. Draw a card. A player may not draw if they have seven cards in hand. Install a Silver or Bronze Fuel Cell in their area of play. The Fuel Cell Charge on installed cards goes toward a player's goal of 21 or more to win. Abilities on Silver Fuel Cells are activated when installed. Burn a Bronze Fuel Cell to the discard pile to activate its ability. Defuse an opponent’s fuel cells with a Fuel Cell of your own of equal or higher value. When our group was playing the game, we were confused with the whole concept of it, but one of the classmates got a good understanding of it and he explained it a little better for us. After he explained it, I knew exactly what to do and how to dominate the game. I kept getting close to 21 but with the certain powers the other players had in the deck, they kept stopping me from winning. But it didn’t stop me from trying to get my dub, so I continued to burn my bronzes to stop the others from winning. Unfortunately, I lost someone I wasn’t paying attention too. I did enjoy myself learning and playing the game and I would play it again. After watching one of the videos that was posted on the Itch.io, I decided I wanted to play the game rock paper scissors. Rock paper scissors requires 3 objects to play the game: Rock, Paper, and Scissors. In rock paper scissors, each items beats one other item. For an example if you match up paper with scissors, scissors is going to win, but if you match scissors with rock, rock is going to win. now if you match rock with paper, paper is going to win. So its basically a cycle but one will win.
